The Lisboa Card is worth it if you visit the Jerónimos Monastery and Belém Tower on the same day. Those two tickets alone cost €33, while the 24-hour card costs €31 and adds unlimited public transport. If you plan only one or two museums over several days, buy single tickets instead.

The maths: when does it pay off?
According to Visit Lisboa, the card includes free entry to more than 50 museums and monuments and unlimited public transport. Here is a simple Belém day:
| Single tickets | With Lisboa Card 24h | |
|---|---|---|
| Jerónimos Monastery | €18 | included |
| Belém Tower | €15 | included |
| Public transport for the day | paid separately | included |
| Total | €33 + transport | €31 |
The card wins as soon as you visit both monuments and use public transport. The 48-hour and 72-hour cards work out cheaper per day, but only if you keep visiting paid sights every day.
When it is not worth it
- You mostly want to walk around, see viewpoints and eat. Many of Lisbon’s best experiences are free.
- You are going to Sintra. According to secondary sources, the Parques de Sintra monuments are not included. See our Sintra day trip guide.
- You visit only one paid museum a day.
Pros
- Pays off with Jerónimos and Belém Tower on one day
- Unlimited public transport included
- Same price on the official shop and GetYourGuide
Cons
- Does not include Sintra's palaces
- Timed slots at Belém still need planning
- Runs in consecutive hours from first use
Tips
- Start the card in the morning to get full value from the 24 hours.
- Belém Tower and Jerónimos use timed slots, and the official site warns that tickets often sell out. Check how to book a slot with the card before you go.
- Plan the Belém day around the two monuments, which are a short walk apart.
Belém Tower and Jerónimos tickets without the card
If you decide against the card, buy these two tickets online in advance. The official site warns that they often sell out and can’t be bought on the day.
