The official Alhambra General ticket costs €22.27 and includes a fixed time slot for the Nasrid Palaces, plus the Alcazaba fortress and the Generalife gardens. It is sold only by the Patronato de la Alhambra, and it is the ticket most likely to sell out of anything in this guide. If official dates are gone, a guided tour with guaranteed entry is the realistic fallback.
Prices and rules were checked on 18 October 2026.
The Patronato limits daily visitors and recommends buying in advance. It doesn’t publish how far ahead tickets sell out. Travel guides report sales opening about three months ahead, with spring and summer dates often gone weeks or months before.

For a first visit, Alhambra General is the ticket to get: it is the only day ticket that includes the Nasrid Palaces, the highlight of the complex. The gardens ticket is cheaper but leaves the palaces out. Night visits are a good second chance if day tickets are gone: from mid-October to the end of March, night visits to the Nasrid Palaces run on Friday and Saturday evenings.
The rules that catch visitors out
- Names and ID. Tickets are personal. Bring the passport or ID card whose number is on the ticket.
- Exact palace time. You enter the Nasrid Palaces only at the time printed on your ticket. The rest of the complex can be visited during the day.
- Online sales close the day before at 23:59.
- Limit of 10 tickets per card per month.
- Only one official seller: tickets.alhambra-patronato.es. Other sites sell resold tickets or tours.
When official tickets are sold out: tours
Resellers buy tickets in advance and sell them with a guide. Here is what we found:

The cheapest option, an entry ticket with the Nasrid Palaces from €28 on GetYourGuide, costs about €6 more than the official ticket. Guided tours from €49 add a guide for about three hours, which is useful in a complex this large. Read the details of any cheaper tour: the Tiqets “from” price is likely to exclude the Nasrid Palaces, which are an optional extra there.
Which ticket should you buy?
- Booking months ahead: the official Alhambra General ticket at €22.27.
- Official day tickets sold out: try official night tickets for the palaces, then a reseller tour that clearly includes the Nasrid Palaces.
- You want history and context: a guided tour. The complex is big and the palace visit is timed, so a guide helps you use the time well.
Pros
- Official ticket is affordable and includes the highlights
- Night visits give a second chance to see the palaces
- Guided tours often have places when official dates are gone
Cons
- Popular dates sell out well in advance
- Tickets are personal and need ID
- Strict time slot for the Nasrid Palaces
Opening hours
From 15 October to 31 March the Alhambra opens 8:30–18:00 for day visits, and from 1 April to 14 October 8:30–20:00. It is closed on 25 December and 1 January.
Other official ticket types
The Patronato also sells combined tickets that are useful for longer stays in Granada:
- Dobla de Oro General (€30.48): the Alhambra plus the Andalusian monuments of the Albaicín, the old Moorish quarter opposite the Alhambra.
- Dobla de Oro at Night (€23.06): the night version.
- Rodríguez-Acosta Foundation plus the Monumental Complex (€25.45).
- Night visit to the gardens and Generalife (€8.48): seasonal and the cheapest way in, but without the palaces.
These tickets follow the same rules: personal, with ID, and online sales close the day before.

Frequently asked questions
How much are Alhambra tickets?
The official Alhambra General ticket, which includes the Nasrid Palaces at a fixed time, the Alcazaba and the Generalife, costs €22.27 on the Patronato's prices page. A night visit to the Nasrid Palaces costs €12.73, as does the day visit to the gardens without the palaces.
How far in advance should I book the Alhambra?
The official site doesn't say how far ahead tickets sell out, only that capacity is limited and advance purchase is recommended. Travel guides report that sales open about three months ahead and that spring and summer dates can sell out weeks or months in advance.
Where do I buy official Alhambra tickets?
The only official seller is the Patronato de la Alhambra y Generalife at tickets.alhambra-patronato.es. Online sales close at 23:59 the day before your visit, and you can buy at most 10 tickets per card per month.
Do Alhambra tickets need a name and ID?
Yes. Tickets are personal and carry the visitor's name and ID number. Bring the same passport or ID card you used when booking, because staff can check it at the entrance.
What if official Alhambra tickets are sold out?
Guided tours from resellers buy tickets in advance and often still have places. On our check date, guided tours including the Nasrid Palaces started at €49 on GetYourGuide and €59 on Viator. Check that the Nasrid Palaces are included, because some cheaper tours leave them out.
