An adult ticket to the Real Alcázar of Seville costs €15.50 on the official website, and that is the cheapest way in. Resellers charge from €20 for the same entry. A guided tour is worth considering here, because the palace mixes centuries of styles that are hard to read without context.

Reduced tickets at €8 are available for visitors over 65, students aged 14 to 30 and holders of the Carnet Joven. The Cuarto Real Alto is the upper floor still used by the Spanish royal family when they visit Seville. It is visited in small groups at set times, so add it when you book if you want to see it.
The Alcázar website says its online ticket channel is the only authorised online seller. There is also a box office in the Patio de Banderas from 9:00, card payment only, but queues can be long in spring.

The reseller entry ticket costs €4.50 more than the official one, with no extra benefit. Guided tours are different: the Viator tour from €35 includes the ticket and about 90 minutes with a guide. The GetYourGuide tour from €53 combines the Alcázar with the Cathedral and Giralda in about three hours, which saves you booking two separate timed visits.
Which option is best?
- On your own: the official €15.50 ticket. Book a morning slot to avoid the midday heat in the gardens.
- First visit, short on time: a guided tour. The palace is big and a guide takes you straight to the best rooms.
- Seeing the Cathedral the same day: the combined tour can be simpler than two separate bookings.
Pros
- Official ticket is the cheapest option
- Gardens and palace can easily fill half a day
- Combined tours with the Cathedral save planning
Cons
- Long box office queues in high season
- Upper royal quarters cost extra and need a set time
- Gardens get very hot in summer afternoons
Opening hours
- 1 October to 31 March: 9:30–17:00.
- 1 April to 30 September: 9:30–19:00.

On Sundays there are free visits when the liturgy allows, with free tickets handed out from 17:00 at the Puerta del Príncipe office.

How to book the official ticket
- Open the official ticket site linked above. The Alcázar website names it as the only authorised online channel, so avoid look-alike sites.
- Choose the date and entry time. Morning slots are cooler in the gardens and less crowded.
- Pick the general ticket, or a reduced one if you qualify, and add the Cuarto Real Alto if you want to see the upper rooms.
- Pay by card and keep the ticket on your phone. If you qualify for a reduced ticket, bring proof of age or student status.
In winter the palace closes at 17:00, so a late lunch can easily cost you the visit. Allow at least two hours for the palace and gardens.
