The easiest way to see Barcelona in three days is by area: the old town on day one, Gaudí on day two, and Montjuïc and the sea on day three. At official adult prices, the six paid sights on this route cost €120 in total. The Sagrada Família and Park Güell use timed tickets, so book them before anything else.
Prices were checked on 18–19 October 2026. Each stop shows the official price first, then the cheapest tour or ticket option we found.
Day 1: the Gothic Quarter and El Born
Avoid Mondays for this day, because the Picasso Museum is closed. On Sundays La Boqueria is closed too.
Morning
Gothic Quarter walking tour
A two-hour walking tour is a good first look at the old town: the cathedral, Plaça del Rei and the Roman walls. Walking it alone is free. With a guide, the cheapest tour we found starts at €19.
Late morning
Picasso Museum
The museum is spread across medieval palaces on Carrer Montcada in El Born. A general ticket costs €15 at the box office or €14 online. People aged 18–25 and over 65 pay €7.50 with proof, and under-18s go in free. From 29 September to 29 March, it opens Tuesday to Sunday, 10:00–19:00.
Afternoon
Barcelona tapas and food walking tour
You can eat your way around the Gothic Quarter and El Born on a guided tapas tour. The one we found includes nine tapas and four drinks, but it doesn’t stop at La Boqueria. Entry to the market on the Rambla is free if you want to see it yourself (it’s closed on Sundays).
Evening
Flamenco show in Barcelona (Tablao Cordobés)
Tablao Cordobés on the Rambla has shows at 19:15, 21:00 and 22:30 that last 70–75 minutes, with tickets from €48 including a drink. For something cheaper, Los Tarantos on Plaça Reial runs 40-minute shows from €30.
Day 2: Gaudí
Day two is the most expensive and the most booked-up day. Choose your Sagrada Família slot first and plan everything else around it.
Morning
Sagrada Família
The basic ticket with the app audio guide costs €26, and the tower adds €10 (€36). Timed entry is required. In October, it opens Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 19:00. Our Sagrada Família tickets guide explains the ticket types and when a guided tour is worth it.
Midday
Casa Batlló
Walk down the Passeig de Gràcia to Casa Batlló, where tickets start at €29. Booking online is cheaper than buying at the ticket office. The visit takes about an hour and 15 minutes. Casa Milà (La Pedrera) is two blocks up the same street, also from €29, if you have the energy for a second Gaudí house.
Late afternoon
Park Güell
The Monumental Zone costs €18 and tickets are sold online only, with timed entry. You must arrive within 30 minutes of your slot. For sunset, walk up to the Bunkers del Carmel nearby. They are free but have been fenced off at night since 2023. See our Park Güell tickets guide.
Day 3: Montjuïc and the sea
Morning
Montjuïc Cable Car
A return trip on the cable car costs €19 at the ticket office or €17.10 online, and the views over the port are excellent. In October, it runs from 10:00 to 19:00. On top of the hill you have the castle, gardens and museums. Walk back down towards the Olympic sites and Poble-sec.
Afternoon
Barcelona boat trip (Las Golondrinas)
Las Golondrinas boats leave from Moll de les Drassanes at the bottom of the Rambla. The 60-minute port and coast trip costs €13, and children aged 5–10 pay €6. Departures run from 11:30 to 19:30. A sunset catamaran is the other option.
Evening
Barceloneta beach
Finish with a walk along the beach and the seafront promenade, then have dinner in Barceloneta.
Extra day: Montserrat is the classic day trip, by rack railway or as a guided tour.

Frequently asked questions
Is 3 days enough for Barcelona?
Three days is enough for the main sights if you group them by area. Spend one day in the old town, one on Gaudí in the Eixample and Park Güell, and one on Montjuïc and the seafront. Add a fourth day for Montserrat.
How much do Barcelona's main sights cost?
At official adult prices checked in October 2026, the Sagrada Família basic ticket costs €26, Park Güell €18, Casa Batlló from €29, the Picasso Museum €15 at the box office (€14 online) and the Montjuïc Cable Car €19 return at the ticket office (€17.10 online).
Which Barcelona sights need booking in advance?
The Sagrada Família and Park Güell use timed tickets, and Park Güell sells online only. Casa Batlló is cheaper online than at the ticket office. Book these first, then plan the rest of the day around them.
Is the Picasso Museum free on some days?
Yes. Entry is free on the first Sunday of the month, and in winter on Thursdays from 16:00 to 19:00, but you need to book. Free slots are released four days ahead and run out. The museum is closed on Mondays.
Is La Boqueria open on Sundays?
No. La Boqueria market is closed on Sundays, so food tours that visit the market don't run that day.
